Sarve bhavantu sukhinah — may all beings be happy

Annual Shraddha — remembering them on their day

Every year, on the lunar day your loved one passed away, their name deserves to be said. We perform the Shraddha in India — or Gau Seva and Kaka Bali in their name — wherever you are.

Also known as: Thithi or Thivasam (Tamil), Taddinam or Abdikam (Telugu), Tithi (Kannada), Barsi or Punyatithi (Hindi)

What is included

  • Tithi worked out from the date of passing (tell us your family's calendar)
  • Complete Shradh by a priest ($79), or Gau Seva / Kaka Bali ($10 each)
  • Sankalpa with their name and your gotra
  • Join live or receive the recording

When families offer it

  • The tithi of passing each year (annual shraddha)
  • Monthly on the tithi in the first year, if your family follows it
  • Or on Mahalaya Amavasya if the tithi is not known

Working out the tithi

An annual shraddha follows the lunar calendar, so the date moves each year. Share the date (and ideally the place and time) of passing, and which calendar your family follows — amanta or purnimanta, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada or North Indian — and we will confirm the day with you before booking.

How it works

  1. Tell us their names — the departed, your gotra if known, and the day to observe.
  2. A priest takes the sankalpa at dawn in India and the offering is made.
  3. Join live or receive the recording — photographs and video, the same day.

Frequently asked questions

Why does the shraddha date change every year?

Because it follows the lunar tithi of passing, not the calendar date.

Can I offer something smaller than a full Shradh?

Yes — many families offer Gau Seva or Kaka Bali ($10 each) on the tithi.
